The surroundings
Mühlbach
Chalet Schöne Aussicht is located on the southern slope of the Mühlbacher Sonnberg, just above the hamlet of Mühlbach im Pinzgau. The holiday home is approximately 100 m above the Salzachtal. This gives it a magnificent view over the valley and the Hohe Tauern. In addition, it is easily accessible by car, mountain bike or (motor) bike. An old mountain path runs directly past the house. This public, unpaved path is still maintained by local farmers. Several walking trails run along the path. You can go directly from the yard to the mountains or go down to the valley to enjoy a bite to eat at restaurant Batzingerhof.
Because of its location on the south side of the mountain, the chalet has sun all day. Even in the dark December days, the sun rises above the mountain all day long. As a result, there is always enough light in the house. In the winter you can experience the quit peace as the snow dampens the external sounds. This gives a ‘miniature-like reality’ where you see the cars driving through the valley, but they barely make any noise. In the spring and summer, the farmers mow their grass and you can enjoy the cows and goats in the surrounding meadows from your own garden. Consequently, during summer or winter … you can completely relax!
Via the trail you are a in five-minute walk in Mühlbach. Next to the restaurant there is also a bakery and a supermarket. On the other side of the village there is another restaurant and an outdoor swimming pool with playground.
Further surroundings
The cosy Bramberg is only a few kilometers from Mühlbach. In the village there are two supermarkets: the Spar and the slightly larger and more expensive MPreis. In addition, there are various other facilities such as bars, restaurants, shops and a bank with an ATM. In Bramberg there is also the Smaragdbahn. With this lift you enter the Wildkogel Arena ski area, a beautiful ski area with 75 km of slopes. Ideal for families and for anyone that does not mind taking the same track every now and then.
If you drive further you will pass Neukirchen, where you will reach at the end of the valley the famous Krimmler Waterfalls, the largest waterfall in Europe. If you go further the pass, you end up in Köningsleiten. Here starts the ski area Zillertal Arena, with famous winter sports resorts such as Gerlos and Zell am Ziller.
If you choose the other side at the bottom of Mühlbach, you will be within a few minutes at the Panoramabahn. This lift takes you to the Kitzbüheler Alpen, in the Kitzbühel-Kirchberg ski area. A fantastic ski area with more than 170 km of slopes. The ski areas of Kaprun and Zell am See are also easily accessible at a 30-minute drive.
